This tote is handmade, in Canada, by a tiny little company. One person big actually (me). This is the antithesis of the multinational corporation. These big mammoth capitalist money makers act like cancer, destroying our environment and the even the society they operate out of, both locally and globally. They relocate production to the poorest of poor places, where they can charge next to nothing for labour, thus sending local unemployment levels skyrocketing. The gap between the haves and have-nots - both between the United States and the developing world, and between the rich and the poor within the developing countries just grows and grows. Only a few fat-cats have all the cash while everyone else suffers. And I don’t mean suffering like me, eating cheese whiz and raisins. I mean like, one-quarter of the world’s people are now starving, and one-third of all children are malnourished. Not to mention the environment! The atmosphere, fresh water, oceans, topsoils, forests, animal habitats, mineral resources are all at the mercy “money-money-MOOOO-ney!” [Note: the theme song from The Apprentice]. All in all it just ain’t a good situation. For more information, you can check out http://corpwatch.org/ or http://www.nologo.org/. Support small business! Yeah!
